about early childhood services

To ensure every child receives the care and education they need to have a healthy start at life

In Douglas and Sarpy Counties, approximately 15,000 children under age five do not receive quality care and education, and 3,500 children are not prepared to enter school. Early Childhood Services is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization developed in 2010 to address these issues. High quality early childhood education is essential for success in life, from social-emotional and language development, to success in school, reduction in crime, and economic prosperity.

Teen & Young Parent Program
Our Teen & Young Parent Program is a comprehensive, integrated system of early health, academic and family services to support pregnant and parenting teens and young adults and their children.

The program will provide an array of services for young men and women with limited resources who are currently expecting or parenting a child 0-5 years old. A collaborative effort among several local agencies such as the Child Saving Institute, Heartland Family Service, Nebraska Children’s Home Society, Lutheran Family Services and the Visiting Nurse Association.
